Goodbye from Knowledge Houses to “Active Summer”
Summer Activities of Zeytinburnu Knowledge Houses, which started on 2nd of July and lasted for 40 days, ended with a ceremony held in Zeytinburnu Culture and Arts Center on 7th of August. In the ceremony 141 members of Knowledge Houses who has become successful in summer activities were awarded with several gifts.
Zeytinburnu Municipality Knowledge Houses had prepared a comprehensive summer activity plan composed of social, cultural and sportive activities for their members, to convert empty holiday days to enjoyable and fruitful memories. Along with sportive activities like soccer, volleyball and table tennis, youngsters also attended discussion tournaments and knowledge competitions by which they gained fast thinking and neat speaking abilities. Besides, club activities on various areas like Book Friends, Language and Script, Stage and Performing Arts, Space and Physics, Social Sciences, Biology and Nature, English, Friends of Poetry, Painting, Origami, Game, Rhetoric, History and Thought provided personal development of children. Members also visited places like Botanic Park, Sea Museum, Aviation Museum, Traffic Training Park and Fire Station Training Center. Parents of knowledge house members also expressed their pleasure to Mayor Murat Aydın about the positive change in their children.
141 of 875 Knowledge House members who attended summer activities succeeded to come out in the competitions. In the ceremony organized on 7th of August in Zeytinburnu Culture and Arts Centre, 141 successful members in 29 branches of competition along 40 days got their awards from Mayor Murat Aydın. Murat Aydın described the knowledge houses as the most successful project of Zeytinburnu Municipality, which started in Zeytinburnu and disseminated to all over Turkey in 8 years.
